I take Amaryl in the evenings, as does my daughter. My Mom tried it but had severe hypoglycemic episodes. I have Hypo episodes sometimes but usually due to too much Starlix and not enough Carb...
Insurance testing can be upwards of $3000 (and that is just the cap on what the insurance will charge a private party). My daughter is on 2 mg Amaryl a day now to try and regulate her sugars. She is horrible about testing so she doesn't have much ...
Yes we are very fortunate that our insurance covered the charges. She has been seeing a pediatric endo for about 1 1/2 years. We just got the results mailed to us and won't see the Dr. until the end of this month for better explanation. I, myself, have no problems with diabetes but my husband has been a "borderline" diabetic for years. So we are guessing he has it too. I also have a 1 year old so I'm not sure about her yet.
My daughter (age 6) has just been diagnosed with MODY 2. Finally after 2 years of not knowing really what she had we finally know. She didn't fit with type II diagnosis and did not test positive for type I antibodies. I have been searching the web and there is not much information available on MODY. So if anyone can give me some information or what to expect I would appreciate it.
