Hi, my 12 year old son has MODY 2 and was diagnosed a year ago. The reason I took him to the doctor was for being tired and that is how we discovered the slightly high glucose. It sounds like tiredness may be a side effect of MODY 2. My son just w...

My six year old daughter was diagnosed with MODY 2. We are unsure about anyone else in the family. I have an 18 month old daughter but she has not been tested or shown any type of symptoms.

Interesting... good luck to you guys. From what I have read, MODY 2 is not too bad to have.

You are fortunate that you know what type of MODY she has. We are still guessing about our (myself, 18 year old daughter, my Mom and Brother) type as insurance won't pay for testing. We all take oral medications at this time.
There are some helpful websites out there that have some good information about MODY but overall it is not well known. Understanding is improving. Google MODY... Is your daughter seeing a pediatric endocrinologist? If not, she should be. Good luck to you.
